OMG It’s 2024
Before the announcement, can we just reflect on the fact that 2023, another post-COVID year, was just swallowed up, and we can’t do anything about it? The quicksands of time have sucked it from us, only able to be seen when we excavate pieces of that past with our little dust brushes and shovels.
Ever since I moved out of my house at the barely ripe age of 19, I feel like time has been an everlasting, unraveling ball of yarn that fell from my fingertips, ignoring the laws of physics by continuing to roll away from me, never slowing, despite my clawing and grasping at the one string.
That was nearly twenty years ago; I have been chasing after that ball of yarn this entire time, and I feel that there is something to be said about time as we exit childhood and stumble head-first into adulthood. Time lasted longer when we were young, what with the ability to truly be present and actually be bored. We would get bored and time would actually slow. Like Britney Spears tap-tapping her pencil on her desk before the bell rang.
I can’t remember the last time I actually said I was bored, and the value in it has long been lost, given that the last decade gave us a little device we carry around with us everywhere and in many ways cannot live without.
C'est la vie.
So, onto the news…
Yes, It’s a Podcast
More a new feature than just new content, I’ll begin releasing podcasts adjacent to posts starting next month. In order to catch up, I will begin with the Crush Chronicles posts that have already been published.
The first season is already planned, and there will be ten episodes released every-other week, with the finale scheduled just before summer. Isn’t that crazy? It’s January and I’m already talking about the summer. Thus the 2024 quicksand begins to gurgle and pull at our string of time. (I’m assuming quicksand gurgles? I don’t really know. Maybe I’m just picturing the Bog of Eternal Stench.)
Like the newsletter posts, some will be free, and some will only be accessible with a paid membership. If the post has a paywall, so will the podcast.
*writes note to self: figure out how to do that after you figure out how to podcast*

I have also launched the referral benefits of my Substack. For every three referrals you bring to Jitsie Jots, you’ll get a discount, whether you refer free or paid subscribers. I’d really love to get paid for my work, and I can only really get to that point with the help of you wonderful, beautiful readers.
Thank you so much for being here, it means absolutely the world to me, and I look forward to surviving the quicksand of 2024 with you.
