Geez, February 2025 is already ready to peace out. ✌🏼
This month was a special one for me. If you read my previous post, this Pisces celebrated her 40th birthday this month. Here’s an “In Case You Missed It” (ICYMI) Recap of the month of love for The 9 Lives of Rachel Jitsawat.
Trying to Impress a Crush
A conversation with Kate
The Crush Chronicles Podcast, episode 6
On February 5th, I released the 6th episode of The Crush Chronicles Podcast, featuring Kate as the episode’s guest. Inspired by Music and Crop Tops, Kate and I discussed the pains of going through puberty, what we find most attractive about a crush, how we have tried to impress a crush in the past (and whether or not we were successful), and so much more. ICYMI, give it a listen.
A Week of Valentines
From February 9-14th, I released a “Valentine a Day” leading up to Valentine’s Day. ICYMI, here’s everything I shared that week:
Day 1: Robby, the guy with the sexy smart brain who ruined everything.
Day 2: Blaine, the one I should have danced with and told the desk was mine.
Day 3: Zack, the musical one who I should not have tried to impress.
Day 4: Conner, the red-headed heartbreaker with the meet-cute.
Day 5: Johnny, the hot one who wanted you to get ur freak on.
Valentine’s Day: I reshared one of my earliest posts, sharing my research on why we celebrate Valentine’s Day. You can read or listen. (I recommend listening.)
Reaching My Midpoint
Last week I shared my thoughts on reaching the ever-anticipated milestone of turning 40.
In this piece, I write about:
how my life looks at the present
a look back at the previous four decades of my life
a look ahead at stereotypes I want to both break and embrace as I move through my 40s and beyond
ICYMI, you can read it here.
Freebie
This month was also the first month I offered a free journal prompt with a Jitsie Jot.
What’s to Come
Next month, I plan to:
close out the first season of The Crush Chronicles Podcast
including a bonus episode for paid subscribers
begin accepting applications for guests for the second season of the podcast
Share a new Jitsie Jot with a new freebie
Post a new chapter to Johnny’s story
with new journal prompts and a coordinating playlist (for paid subscribers)
I am also in the middle of a writing class, in which I (if all goes well) will be awarded a writing certification. I am building a portfolio of writing pieces in many different genres, not just memoirs, and plan to share these as Jitsie Jots in the coming months. Some of the genres include:
memoir
review writing
analytical writing
literary narratives
and more
I hope you will continue on my writing journey with me as I continue to embrace the Substack platform.
Until next time,
💋 Jitsie
